¹ú²ú´«Ã½ is pleased to see that the 2017 Ontario budget contains new measures to reduce economic barriers to post-secondary education. These build on the government ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s important changes to the Ontario Student Assistance Program announced last year, which will make average tuition free for more than 210,000 students across the province.

Demand for Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s programs remains strong, and we look forward to working with our partners in government to ensure the university is able to continue to invest in its transformative student learning experience.

We also applaud new investments by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development in creating new internship opportunities through TalentEdge and the Mitacs Accelerate Program, as well as other work-integrated learning opportunities through the $190-million Career Kick-Start Program.

Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s is proud of the success of its many experiential learning programs, including the Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP), which provides students with a paid 12 to 16-month work experience.

Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s also applauds the government ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s continued support for Indigenous students and recognizes the importance of the government ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s $200-million investment over three years to support access to high quality post-secondary education and training opportunities.
