Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s maintains top 200 spot in 2026 QS World University Rankings

The university increased its rank with gains in research impact, international partnerships, and graduate outcomes, improving its position for the third year in a row.

Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s has improved its standing in the QS World University Rankings. The university is now ranked 191st out of 1,501 post-secondary institutions across 106 locations worldwide, rising two places from last year and maintaining its place in the top 200 universities worldwide. Within Canada, Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s has also advanced one place, now sitting 9th among the 29 Canadian schools evaluated.

The QS World University Rankings evaluate universities across several broad performance indicators, spanning research, university partnerships, student learning experience and outcomes, and academic and employer reputation.

Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s QS World University Ranking performance highlights

Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s made strides in several QS performance indicators this year. In the area of research and academic reputation, the university rose seven places in Citations Per Faculty, which estimates the impact and quality of the scientific work produced by a university.

It also made significant improvement on a measure called International Research Network, which looks at the richness and diversity of an institution ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s international research partnerships, rising 98 places over last year.

Within Canada, Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s stood out in employability, ranking in the top five nationally for employment outcomes for graduates, and for our reputation with global employers for producing the most job-ready graduates.

Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s has steadily improved its global standing in the QS rankings, gaining 55 positions in the last three years.

Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s QS rankings increase comes on the heels of another rankings success. On June 17, the university achieved a top ten global result in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings for the fifth consecutive year, rising two spots to 6th place internationally, and reclaiming its title as the number one institution in Canada.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s has placed in the global top 10, a milestone unmatched by any other Canadian institution since the rankings began in 2019.
