Michaela Sapielak is a second-year PhD student working under the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey McNairn. Her research interests include nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Canadian political history and biography, as well as women ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s roles in elite political culture. Her doctoral research examines the spouses of Canadian federal politicians from the mid-nineteenth to the early twentieth centuries and will consider these women ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s contributions to their husbands’ political careers, as well as how these women embodied or challenged gender roles in their navigation of political spaces.
