This week, ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ celebrated the centenary of the birth of the late Dr. Alfred Bader, BSc’45, BA’46, MSc’47, LLD’86. Dr. Bader ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s connection to Queen ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ ’s spanned more than 70 years, starting with his arrival as an undergraduate student in November of 1941. Though a chemist by training, Dr. Bader was not only a successful entrepreneur, but a renowned art collector and philanthropist. In the Department of Art History and Art Conservation, Dr. Bader supported a Chair in Northern Baroque Art and a Chair in Southern Baroque Art. He provided numerous other philanthropic gifts to support students, including the Bader Doctoral Fellowship.
